When you don’t have time to waste…

Bottom-Line Results

What you can expect…

With Real-Life Projects, Inc. you can expect practical, useful solutions to your problems. When you have no time to waste on academic ideas, on inexperienced consultants, and on poorly-fitting pre-packaged solutions, I can provide you with real-life answers. We will apply proven techniques that will have lasting, bottom-line impact on your business.

You will work with me, a project manager with almost fifteen years experience, from start to finish. Unlike with big consulting firms, you will never be passed off to a junior associate after the sale.

My advice will be based on recent, real-life experience working as a project manager. I have started, finished and overseen a wide variety of projects in real companies. I know what it means to be accountable for your results. You will get the benefit of practical experience. You will get the attitude and loyalty of a dedicated employee.

We will focus on business results, not paperwork. Project management has a reputation for being paperwork-heavy. I use a practical approach that may include written policies, procedures and templates where they are useful, but I work to keep paperwork and complexity to a minimum. Paperwork should never overwhelm people. I will help your staff deliver business results.

A Guarantee

First, we will figure out together what you need. We will figure out whether your staff needs training, inspiration, large-group addresses, or perhaps hands-on mentoring and guidance. No matter what services you select, you will get a customized solution to your company’s problems.

You will know what the whole engagement will cost, before you pay anything. Unlike most consulting and training firms, I avoid standard time and materials contracts. I prefer to provide specific business results for a known price. I will understand your needs, develop a clear statement of what I can do to solve your problems, and offer you an price that includes my time, travel and expenses. That way you know what results to expect and what you will pay, before we begin the work.

My fee depends on your satisfaction. I charge nothing for developing a proposal. The proposal will contain valuable ideas for how to improve your company, and they are yours at no charge. If you agree to the proposal, pay half up front and you receive all the agreed-on services. Only pay the last half of the fee if you are satisfied with the final results.

With Real-Life Projects, Inc. you pay for results, not for time and expenses.

Not sure if we should work together? Read my articles to see my approach, before your first call. Many companies hide behind proprietary methodologies and jargon. I contribute what I know to the business community, so anyone can read and learn from it. You can be certain what to expect from me before the first phone call or e-mail. If you are still thinking, subscribe to my free newsletter and get a regular update on new articles and ideas.

Ethics of Real-Life Projects

I am bound by the ethical codes of PMI, IEEE, ACM, and IEEE Computer. I take these codes seriously, and will work to protect the interests of your company and to protect the general public from harm. I will keep your company data confidential and notify you promptly of any ethical concerns or issues that I observe.

I avoid any reimbursement situations that may cause a conflict of interest. If I receive compensation from someone involved in my work for you, I will disclose that fact to you.

If I am taking you out to lunch while on assignment, I will never bill the meal back to your company. That practice, common at most firms, creates an unpleasant tension between the organization and the purchasing manager. If I pay for lunch, the meal is really on me.
